Ithaca College congratulates students named to Dean's List for the spring 2014 semester.

The following local residents are among those to be named to the Roger Williams University Dean's List for the Spring 2014 semester. Full-time students who complete 12 or more credits per semester and earn a GPA of 3.4 or higher are placed on the Dean's List that semester.

The University of Hartford is pleased to announce the following local students have been named to the Dean's List for Spring 2014.

Union College is recognizing the Class of 2014 for their graduation from the College.

To qualify for the Dean's List, students must have a semester grade point average of 3.50 or better and must have completed successfully all courses for which they were registered.

Hofstra University congratulates the students named to the Spring 2014 Dean's List for their outstanding academic achievement. Students must earn a grade point average of at least 3.5 during the semester to make the Dean's List.

Assumption College's 97th Commencement ceremony was held on May 17 on the campus's H.L. Rocheleau Field, where 463 Bachelor of Arts degrees; 217 graduate studies degrees (Master of Arts and Master of Business Administration) and certificates; and 35 Continuing and Career Education degrees (Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Business Administration, Bachelor of Science, and associates) were awarded.

To be named to the dean's list, students must have a grade-point average of 3.0 or better and rank in the top 20 percent of their class in their respective college or school.

The following students achieved the Dean's List at Belmont University for the Spring 2014 semester. Eligibility is based on a minimum course load of 12 hours and a quality grade point average of 3.5 with no grade below a C.

The criteria for the WPI Dean's List differ from that of most other universities as WPI does not compute a grade point average(GPA). Instead, WPI defines the Dean's List by the amount of work completed at the A level in courses and projects.

Named in honor of the first president of WPI, this honor recognizes outstanding performance by first-year students. To be eligible for membership, students must achieve all A's and B's (with a minimum of six A's) in their academic subjects during their first three terms at WPI.

The 45th annual Curry College Awards Recognition Ceremony was held in the Student Center Gymnasium on May 2. This special event honored Curry College students who have achieved excellence in academics, student life, the arts, and athletics

Eight Nichols College student athletes were named to the 2013 Gladiator by SGI/National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division III National Academic Squad for the 2013-14 academic year. The National Academic Squad recognizes those student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.30 or higher through the first semester of the 2013-14 academic year.

A total of 50 Stonehill College students will work with 25 faculty members on a variety of research projects this summer through the Stonehill Undergraduate Research Experience (SURE) program. The program provides students with an opportunity to perform significant, publishable research under the guidance of an experienced faculty researcher.

Many Stonehill College students will be spending their spring break week helping those in need as part of the school's H.O.P.E. Alternative Spring Break Program. The following local residents will be traveling the week of March 9th to New Orleans where they will be volunteering for the Saint Bernard Project, an award-winning rebuilding, nonprofit organization whose mission is to ensure that disaster-impacted communities in the greater New Orleans area recover in a prompt, efficient, and predictable way.

Many Stonehill College students will be spending their spring break week helping those in need as part of the school's H.O.P.E. Alternative Spring Break Program. The following local residents will be traveling the week of March 9th to California where they will be volunteering at the Coachella Valley Housing Coalition, a non-profit housing development corporation dedicated to helping low income families improve their living conditions through advocacy, research, construction, and operation of housing and community development projects.

The reviews are in with thumbs up for Baldwin Wallace University and Beck Center for the Arts collaborative presentation of "CARRIE: The Musical," directed by Victoria Bussert with choreography by Gregory Daniels and musical direction by Nancy Maier. The Plain Dealer calls CARRIE, based on Stephen King's 1974 heart-chilling novel, "a powerful wallop of a piece with a smart, pop sensibility balanced by real emotion ... it's like nothing that has come before." Runs through March 9, 2014.

The University of Rhode Island is pleased to announce that about 4,300 undergraduates have qualified for the Fall 2013 Dean's List. The students represent nearly all of Rhode Island's cities and towns, all six New England states, New York, New Jersey, and many other states and nations.

Ithaca College student-athletes have been named team captains for the winter sport season.

More than 2,000 high-achieving students have been named to the Hofstra University Dean's List for Fall 2013. Students who began their studies before Fall 2012 must earn at least a 3.4 grade point average to qualify. Those who entered the university after Fall 2012 must earn a grade point average of 3.5. Provost and Senior Vice President of Academic Affairs Herman A. Berliner congratulates these students on their impressive academic achievement.

Nichols College's Office of the Registrar has announced the Dean's List for the fall semester of 2013. The Dean's List gives recognition to those students who achieve high grades during a single semester. In order to be included in the Dean's List, a student must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.2 for at least 12 credit-hours and receive no grade below a C+ during the semester. A student who earns a grade point average of 3.6 or higher is awarded Dean's High Honors.
